To provide the underground power, communication and street lighting to Stage One of Perth’s northern suburbs newest town centre and residential estate at Somerly.

Despite challenges resulting from the expansion of the work required to include digging works and many contract variations, the project was completed within the 9 month construction schedule.
Overview
This 162-hectare Residential Estate Development was a joint venture between the Department of Housing and Works and Macquarie Real Estate Equity Funds. The project was managed by multi award-winning national developer Urban Pacific Limited. TES provided Electrical and Communications reticulation for Stage One which meant providing services for 135 residential blocks of land. This included a main site switchboard, distribution boards, URD pillar units, sub-mains and communications cabling infrastructure for each housing lot.
From each pillar unit, conduits were installed to the individual housing sites for all their power requirements, together with a conduit and pit system for the communications.
Somerly Estate has been recognised twice by winning the Urban Development, Institute of Australia’s State Awards category for ‘Excellence in Residential Estates over 250 Lots’.
